Catching up...

Hey ya'll:) to whoever is still reading this..lol!! I have not posted a regular post in a while so I thought I would drop in and say hey!! I really have not had much to blog about but hopefully I can come up with something to write about soon. Here is some tidbits from my life the past couple of weeks.

We booked our Vacation and in a few weeks we will get to see the beautiful shores of Destin FL. I have never been so I am very excited to see some new waters. I hear it is clear water and white sands and simply beautiful. We rented a condo and I am very excited about all that coming up!! My camera will pretty much be in action the whole time and I tend to take sooooooo many pictures!! We have been playing with the idea of maybe driving through New Orleans just to see what it looks like,but we don't know about that yet.

My parents this past 14th of August celebrated 36 years of Marriage!! I am so thankful to have been raised by a home where both parents were present and we were loved and grew up knowing we were loved and safe and all the memories made. So many today come from broken homes and bad marriages. I am so thankful that I came from one who stuck it out through thick and thin!! 

My Mama turned ...well I don't know if she is settled with the age yet..lol. She turned another year older on her Birthday yesterday the 18th!! We took her out to breakfast at a local place that is good here in town. She got cards,gifts and a cake!! Me and my sister took her out for the day and we ended up just riding around to parts we have not seen out this way yet. We went to Franklin and Brentwood TN areas. A lots of singers live in those areas. We had a great time.

Then on the way home from taking my mom around we had to stop at a store and we found a Chinese restaurant in the shopping center so we decided to go in and eat supper. Well we walk in and not a sole is to be found,no customers and no workers. My sister said is it even open? I laughed and we all walked toward a table and finally here comes a man wondering out and he can't speak English very good and we finally figure out he asking us what we want to drink,so we say water. Meanwhile my sister is at the restroom and can't get in,the man yells something back at my sister that we have yet to know what he said,but we later figured out I think he was saying wait because somebody was in there. My sister heard the waitress yelling at somebody on the phone in there. So we all make our way over to the food area and nothing is out hardly. Some food here and there,but bare and some were empty with nothing. It wasn't worth the money because we wasn't going to be able to make a plate,it was pretty much just empty. So my mom says I'm not eating here and she starts to walk out,then my sister follows her and I go out. We were in a laughing mood by this time and we were in the car laughing because of how bad it was and how we just walked out. We never got any food or anything. Well I see a lady running toward our car while we are backing out and my sister said that is the waitress. Well the waitress runs to our car and throws a paper towel on our front window. My mom when she had sat down had left a paper towel she had took in on the table by accident. They threw it out our windshield and she ran back inside holding the doors and all of them looking at us mean. We were laughing so hard by then we just had pull over and my sister took the wipers and it blew off when they went over it. It was the best laugh I have had in a very long time and we could not stop laughing. Now we know to never go in a place that is empty,there is a reason sometimes. I can't believe people would be so rude in their business to people. You are not going to gain any customers acting so rude and throwing stuff at people. I got home and read reviews on the place and they were all bad so avoid this place!!!

It sure is not a pleasant place..lol I could have said so much but just decided it wasn't even worth it,if that is how they want to act then let them,but they won't get my good review.

Book Review:You Be Sweet

I recently had the chance to review this cookbook. This one was centered around nothing but sweets and all those good things. I found a few recipes in it that looked very good and I will have to try them one day soon. Each chapter begins with a story and goes into a different event and recipes. Very cute idea and I love the cover and design,but as far as the cookbook it's your basic average cookbook on the shelf and I would probably not buy it if I picked it up in a store because nothing really stood out from among other cookbooks. I did like some of the recipes though and will try some,just with so many cookbooks on the market this one didn't really stand out any different and there wasn't many pictures. I like a bunch of pictures in a cookbook. If you love sweets though this is the book for you.

Chick-fil-a...

Well me and my mom went to Chick fil a today along with tons of others around America. We got there and it was backed down to the road at the drive thru. So we went inside and it was packed and lined up out the door so we decided to check at the other Chick fil a and we seen it was backed out to the road as well. So we didn't get in either one them. I stand for everything they have said and support their opinions and convictions. It's good to see a company stand up for Christian beliefs. I have seen several people say to wait in line because we wait everywhere else,but it makes me no less of a Christian just because I didn't wait in line. I think the people that support it on regular days or just as usual as they do in a normal week are just as supportive and Christian as those who don't stand in line in front of hundreds. Just make sure your standing in line for the right reasons and not to be seen and say look what I did. God bless all companies that stand up for their convictions.

Birthday...

My birthday was made special by my family this past weekend!! I got through turning 28:)       

 I got Money and some flowers. I love these flowers they are my favorite.

 Mom fixed my favorite dish of hers,Lasagna.

 Plus put together a beautiful table with balloons.

 Plus a pretty cake 

I am so blessed to have a wonderful family.

Then today the 31st would have been my paw paw's Birthday. He's been in Heaven 25 years and today we took my balloons and sent them off for him. Happy Birthday Paw Paw:)

Book Review:Short Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer

I recently had the chance to review and read this book. Travis and his brothers have lived on her land since their father's death. They never leave and have a gate keeping other's out. Travis vowed to protect the land and never let anyone take it from them,they trust no one. As a young child Meredith wondered onto archer land and got caught in a trap and Travis freed her from it and took her home.  From there on out she always had him on her mind. Now years later Meredith is an adult and living with her Uncle and Aunt. They want her to marry a man she does not love in hopes to save their own money problems. She overhears him planning out a plot to burn the Archer land so they will be forced to sell. She leaves a note for her cousin who is her best friend and she goes off alone to warn the brothers. During an accident she is forced to stay with the archer men recovering. He uncle makes her marry one of them for fear of a scandal. I don't want to ruin anymore surprises in the book so I will stop there. I loved this book and read it very quickly because I could not put it down. Their were little twist and turns around every corner. The love story was so sweet and deep I felt I was right there in the book. One of the best reads I have read in a long time. A book of letting God be in complete control of your life and putting all trust in him with whatever might come your way.

Just let it slip on by...

How is everyone doing? Me I am in denial;) For you see tomorrow I will be 28 on the 28th!! Another year has gone by and I will be another year older. I never understood when people said just ignore the day and let it go by quietly. Well I understand now because that is exactly what I am saying as I get older.  Oh dear I just had the thought next year at this time I will be saying 29 and then 30. I better stop or I am just going to get myself worked up..lol. So Happy Birthday to me tomorrow. Lets keep it quiet though and just let it slide by. I think I am now an adult and older when I repeat that.

Why being Gay is Wrong...

Chick fil a has recently came out and said they don't agree with Homosexuality. They are one of the first big major business that I know of that have came out and said this openly. I stand behind them for their view and what God's say in his word. My thoughts have gone from in life.Am I wrong? What's it too me how one lives? I'm not the judge. I have had so many different thoughts and it always come back to the same one,yes it is wrong. 

First off in Genesis when God created the world he created one man and one woman. We see this in the following verses.

Genesis 2:21-25

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

These verses alone should show how God indented for a man,woman union. If he would have wanted two men or two women he would have said so,but no he said, a man shall leave his mother and father(man and woman again) and cleave to his wife(woman) and they were both naked and not ashamed. He told them to go fourth and multiply. Let me say as well, can 2 men or 2 woman produce children? No,only male and female together is how human life comes about and produces.

Next verses found in Leviticus

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination

20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

I don't even have to say anything on these verses because they speak for themselves. It's perfectly clear. Now people with these verses will say and use the defense well "It also says do not eat shellfish or some other rule in the section" If we find it wrong with the other then we should not eat shellfish either they say. My answer is we don't go by the Old Testament. We by the New Covenant. In the Old Testament their were examples of same sex relationships,but it was not brought on by God,he didn't support it. It was a man made thing they created on their own. When Jesus died on the cross he died for all these sins and took the price for them. He shed blood so that when we do sin we are forgiven and we are to turn from that sin. People will say it's not in the New Testament. It is and in the New Covenant it is still one of the sins that are wrong.

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire

These were two men from the old testament that had engage in unnatural acts with each other and it's brought up in the new because it is still wrong. It's saying your in danger of Hell if you don't turn from your sin.

Also these Verses

Matthew 19:4-6

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder

Here it is said again still saying One man and One woman,it still has not changed in the New Testament. Do you see anywhere in the bible where it was ok for the same sex to be together,no you don't.

Then in Romans we see

Romans 1:24-27

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 

Homosexuality would fall under verse 24 because people are following their hearts when they do this,not God.

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet

These verses point out again how it is wrong. It's saying it is unnatural to have relations other then man and woman.

So I hope all this makes sense for I am no bible expert,but it does clearly state it. Throughout all time it has been male and female and same sex has never been accepted because through out all the years it came from somewhere that is wrong and marriage is for man and woman. If it was right I believe it would have been told in the bible and carried through the generations to today. It isn't! Throughout everything it's always been man and woman because that is what the bible says and God says. I'm not a bigot or filled with hate toward others who choose this lifestyle. I love anybody and everybody and will treat everyone the same. I don't bully or treat anyone different,but I don't agree with the sin. One can turn away from that sin and be forgiven,but you must walk away from the sin your in just like any other sin. You can't keep living in that sin. Being gay is a sin. I hope I have made some sense in this post for as I said before I'm not bible expert but have my convictions as to what I believe it is saying. I respect others opinions so wish others would respect mine as well.

Book Review:Mondays with my old Pastor by Jose Luis Navajo

I recently had the chance to review "Mondays with my Old Pastor". Written from the experience of a man who is a pastor who feels down and burnout and ready to give up the ministry. He starts meeting with the pastor each Monday. So many lessons and stories come out of the Pastor to help the man. I could relate to some parts of the book as I think other Christians would as well. You come to a point where you don't even know how you feel,but your just tired and burnout. The book gives such wonderful advice from a man who has been there. Filled with so much advice and thought thinking advice and stories. I would recommend this to anyone who going through a struggle with their faith or ministry or just feel worn out.

Book Review:Love finds you in Mackinac Island by Melanie Dobson

I recently had the chance to read and review this book. I love reading the Love Finds you books. They always center around a different city and state each time. They are real places with charming names. In this book it finds you in Mackinac Island among the upper class of that time period. Elena and her family own a summer cottage there and visit every summer. This summer may be their last one as her father is about to lose their factory and all they own. They come to the island and along with several other families they want to meet and marry their daughters off to the rich Mr.Darrington. Elena goes along with her mother and their plans but each night for years she has snuck off to a old lighthouse that has been empty for years. It's her private place to be who she truly is away from society. A man appears one night there and quickly they fall in love. She does not know it but he is the Mr.Darrington that everyone is after and he does not know her. I enjoyed this book it kept me going til the end to see what would become of it all. It taught some good lessons throughout the book too as "Not to gossip" or pretend to be somebody your not. The only thing I didn't like was a few of the wine drinking references in some of the parts,it being a Christian book I don't agree with drinking,but other than that I really enjoyed the read!

Shadow Valley Gospel Festival and Dailey and Vincent

This past weekend was awesome!! We headed to Fayetteville TN to the Shadow Valley Gospel Music Festival. We went to see my favorite group Dailey and Vincent. It was an awesome show with some great groups and great singing!! I had a great time. Here are some pictures:)

So look what we found in the parking lot at Taco Bell. We got to meet Jeff Parker from the group outside!!

It's held on a large lot of land where it's Christian ran with good clean family entertainment. They started out with a Hymn and Prayer.

A little Kindness goes a long way...

So much rudeness in the world today,it is all around us. I have seen so much of it lately in places. I always think life is so short to be so upset or rude. It isn't worth it to be like that toward others. Like for instance today in walmart I was waiting in the line to get something out the hot food bar in the deli. Well a lady comes up and sees that what she wanted they are out of and she ask the very busy lady helping someone,how many  minutes til you get some more. The lady answered her and she stormed off saying some cuss words. I'm like really? It's chicken wings and your going to storm off angry over that? I find it useless to act that way toward others in life,it's a waste of time. At least we have the chance for them to be ready in 5 minutes. What about people in other countries that don't even have anything to eat? There is no point in getting upset and being rude over such stupid things. Another example was in walmart again the other night. A elderly couple was walking down the center aisle and they started fussing at each other and the lady yelled at the man to just go and get it. It was a shelf you put in the bathroom. He could not pick it up so I started walking that way and I got near him and asked if he needed help. He said a very bad language choice to himself because it was heavy. I started backing off a little because I could tell he was not very happy. My mom comes over and offered to help and so has another man stopped and offered. By this time the wife is helping the man and fussing at him and saying some choice language to him. All this time while ignoring all 3 of us who tried to help. She slams the thing in her buggy and they walk on. Mom just said have a blessed day. They never spoke one word to any of the people who stopped. Why would you want to be so ill over a shelf? Do you know how many people wish to be married and have a loved one and your lucky enough to have one so why are you being so mean to each other? What I am getting at,life is a one time thing and it passes by quickly why get so angry over such small silly things? Be nice to the people around you,no need is there for rudeness and being mean. The world would go a lot more smooth if people slowed down and actually cared about those around them. Be nice to each other nothing is worth wasting minutes of your life acting mean toward others or getting upset. Treat each other with kindness and respect and equal! A little kindness goes a long way.

1. What is your favorite song? 
Oh my goodness,this is one of those questions that is almost impossible to answer;-) So many are my favorites!!  Come thou fount,I have been blessed,I'm a Solider! I also like some country songs. Oh my goodness how could I name just one? 

2. What is your favorite dessert?
I'm not really much of a sweets eater. I never really have been. When I do though I like Red Velvet Cake or Strawberry or Fruity type flavor cakes. I also got hooked on these good cinnamon rolls in an Amish Bakery near us.

3. What ticks you off?
People making fun of others,people putting others down,somebody that thinks they are better then others,people being rude or mean for no reason. 

4. When you're feeling upset what do you do?
I usually go to my room and lay down in quietness and think or cry it out

 5. What's your favorite pet?
My two doggies Daisy and Benji

6. Do you prefer to wear white or black? 
Black..lol..I never can find anything in white that looks good on me...lol

7. What's your attitude? 
Laid back,Calm,Easy going, being nice to people

 8. What place, object, scenario, etc. would you describe as perfection? 
Early morning on the beach watching the sun come up over the ocean,hearing the waves and feeling the sand:)

9. What is/are your guilty pleasure(s)?
Ummm...chinese food and popcorn chicken from the deli section hot bar in Walmart..lol

10.What is your favorite pastime?
Yard Sales and Thrift Stores and watching the waltons

1. I currently completed my Waltons dvd series. I now have all 9 seasons and the movie special. I love watching it.


2. Pretty much my whole closet of clothing is from yard sales,thrift stores or freecycle


3. I watch the golden girls on Hallmark about every night while falling asleep


4. I really want to travel the world and go as many places as I can


5. I don't like eggs and don't eat them..lol


6. I love making others laugh even when I'm having a bad day myself.


7. I'm very shy and tend to not be that talkable to people.


8. I have always wanted to swim with dolphins.


9. I love Pinterest and wish my things look half as good as the pictures..lol
