On this Day in Christian History Book Review

I recently had a chance to read and review this book! It is made up of stories of Christan people in history that made a difference. It goes day by day for each month and into a full year. So you can read a devotion on someone each day. I started this book and it was interesting, but I just could not get into it for some reason. The stories in it were just basic stories with nothing really popping out at me like Read me! I think the author did a great job on organizing the book into day by day. I would probably go back and read it for reference if I am looking up a certain Christian person in history. It wasn't a bad book but it wasn't a great book it was sort of in between. Some might find it interesting and some might not.

My Favorite of Christmas!!

I came up with a few of my favorites around the Christmas season,my favorite time of year!!

Favorite Decorations: I love the tree and ornaments!!! I love how you can look back on ornaments each year and have fond memories of how they came to the tree. Weather homemade or store bought they are each so special. I have started my own collection and have my own box now and I love the memories behind each one!

Favorite Colors: I love the colors of the season!! I love white lights hanging peaceful or I love bright colored lights still or blinking! Beautiful colors of this season.

Favorite Candy: Call me silly but I don't like candy canes,I never have. I love to buy them and put in gift bags cause they look so pretty but I just don't like eating them..lol..I do love the fruity tasting candy canes they come out with though. I like anything fruity:)

Favorite Movie: Every year since I can remember it's been a tradition to watch The best Christmas pageant ever!! I love that movie. It makes me want to cry every time! It's the cutest christian movie I have seen. So simple yet so powerful. It's about a bunch of Children who are very poor and bullies of the school and they come to church because they think their is free food and stuff and they end up in the Christmas play and everybody is worried about it,but in the end it has you crying at what the miracle of the Christmas story can bring:)

Favorite Song: It's crazy but I just love Baby it's cold outside. I love how they harmonize together in a duet and do different parts for the man and woman. The tune is very catchy:)

Favorite Food: These ham biscuits my mom makes every Christmas morning. They are sooo good. I will post the Recipe soon. They have cheese and there baked and I just got to stop talking about them before I start wanting some..lol:)

Favorite Scent: I love the Christmas smells when you walk into certain gift stores at Christmas and I love the smell of snow in the air at night:)

Favorite Shopping Place: The dollar tree and Walmart..at the dollar tree you can buy items and make such cute gift baskets or bags and walmart is just a great place to shop all around:)

The way I see it by Melissa Sue Anderson

I put this book on hold at the library and was very excited to begin reading it. I love Little house on the Prairie!! With the Walton's it is one of my all time favorite shows. I had read reviews on this book, not very good was read in many reviews, but I like forming my own opinion so I decided I would read it. Well the people's reviews were right it was not that great a book. I read through the whole book hoping it would get better but really it never did. All the book was is a episode guide and takes you through certain ones. There might be a background behind the show in certain parts but the parts could have been put together and you would have had a one chapter book, there is nothing more then talking about the episodes and storyline, nothing behind the story. I am not saying spread out all the gossip in a book but at least tell us more about the shows like fun facts and stuff like she gave one fact of what they were served when they ate in the meals around the table,I wanted more fun facts like that but what you read in this book is just like watching or reading about each episode through a guide, hardly anything in it. If there was not pictures or a title to this book you would probably never know this is a biography. Love little house on the prairie though.

Some Rambles...

Well the Christmas season has offically began:) Thanksgiving is now over and we move into the Christmas spirit! Mom was sick so we had to cancel dinner with the whole family this year, but me and my sister made Thanksgiving dinner for our family. It turned out really well..except that we by accident bought a Chicken instead of a Turkey..lol..we should have known Perdue makes Chicken..lol..well it was good laugh and we ended up getting a Turkey anyway because my grandma made us a Thanksgiving meal by surprise and so we got some turkey! That was a blessing:) I decided to just hang around the house today instead of going shopping. I just relaxed and read a book I am reading. Plus as you can see I did my blog over with a Christmas makeover!Well I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and a great start to the Holiday Season! God bless!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Everyone!
So is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I guess we are. My mom is sick with that flu mess and so me and my sister have took on Thanksgiving this year just for our family. We canceled everything else cause of mom and not wanting anyone to get sick or anything with this terrible mess. So me and my sister will be preparing the meal. Wish us luck:) Haha!! As I look around the table this year the Lord has blessed us so much! He's brought us though a lot of trying times so I just want to thank the Lord for always being there! Life without Limits By Nick Vujicic Book Review

I recently had a chance to read this book and I want to say it was a great read!! He was born without arms and legs and most people in his situation would give up on life, but not Nick. In this book it taught me so much! I suffer from some depression and ocd problems and he inspired me so much in this book to not let your disability or sickness get in the way of enjoying your life. I felt at many times in the book he was talking right to me the reader! He tells various stories to inspire you. He tells of stories from his life and his childhood years and how he almost committed suicide because he was so upset at life and what he was born with, but he decided to live and now God has brought him into speaking for thousands around the world telling his story and inspiring people to get up and live and not let your problem get you depressed or down on life and angry. He made me just want to jump up and start really living in this book! I highly recommend it. It was a great book. Thank you Nick for inspiring so many people around the world with your love for God and life:)

I recieved this book free from Waterbrook Multnomah for my review

Where Thou Goest...

Ruth 1:16-17 "And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me"

I love those verses from Ruth,it is one of my two favorite verses in the Bible! I watched a movie about Ruth one night and it was so good!! I just love the story. I often Joke I want to meet my Boaz!! I know though in God's time if it's his will he will show me that special someone, but until then really I am perfectly happy being single. It means I can dovote all my time and single years to the Lord!! I apply that verse to my relationship with the Lord. Because I am sticking with him in life not matter what, where he leads me I will follow and where his path takes me I will always go with him. That verse can mean so many things and that is how I look at it. Two of my favorite verses in the Bible:) Are you today on the path God wants you? Are you willing to stand up and say even when the world and people has walked out that yes God where thou goest I will go. Let the Lord lead your path today and follow him!!

God is still there

I was trying to go to sleep last night and could not. I sat on the side of my bed and something caught my eye in the window peeping through. I saw the moon out.

Do you ever just sit in awe of God's work? It reminded me last night about a verse in the bible

John 1:5 "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not"

I love that verse it just reminded me last night that God was still there and was looking down at me and was with me!

Then Sings my Soul,Special Edition Book Review

I Got this book in the mail and loved it!!! It is such a great read,I am not disappointed!! It tells the history behind the song about how the person came to write the song. It has over 150 songs. It is so interesting to read about the songs you sing in church and know the stories about how they came about and were wrote! They are well known hymns in this book. Such as Christmas hymns like It came upon a midnight clear to The first Noel, to hymns we sing on Sunday such as The Solid Rock or Oh how I love Jesus!! I love it as well cause it has the song on the left and then the story on the page beside it. It's under the piano cords too like a regular hymn page if you want to play. This was a really good read if you want to get to know some of the stories behind the song you so often hear and sing. I highly recommend it!
