I need the every hour

I don't see how people make it without the Lord. I sure do need him everyday in my life and every hour. He offers me peace when nothing else will. Just take your problems to him and his tender voice will carry you through. He is what gets me through the hours even when I don't see it,he does,he really does.

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son.

Book Review:Unsinkable by Abby Sunderland

Wow she was only a teenager herself,but she decided to go on a boat by herself and sail around the globe. She grew up around sailing and her family always encouraged their children and wanted them to see many cultures. It gives a glimpse of what she grew up around with the families travels on boats as she was homeschooled. She is one very brave lady I would be afraid to be out on the ocean by myself and nobody around but not her. It takes you through her story and with thoughts from her plus written in another way where they are talking about things that went on.  It gives you little icons to let you know who is talking in that part of the book. Very mature for a teenage to take on this task,not many young people these days are mature enough to do such a task. Not a bad read.

A Little Ramble Hello

Hey all,
Nothing much been going on!! I redone my blog again as you can see,I think I will stay put with it. I have had a bad weekend with the OCD/Depression,please pray for me!! It's been a tough weekend with it. I am tired of missing out on things because of it. So I am thankful for prayers:) I am no longer on Twitter I deleted my account I just could not get into it. I think Facebook is the best all around and easy thing to use to keep in touch. It's got cold again here,and here I thought maybe that was over,hopefully spring will come through and show fully soon. Their are those little yellow flowers all over my yard. I love to see flowers and everything blooming after a long winter. Well I must go,just wanted to drop by and say hey.

Book Review:Desert Gift by Sally John

I recently had the chance to review this book. It is about a woman who is a famous marriage expert. One day though as her and husband are suppose to be going on a trip and she is to speak at a big church about keeping a marriage together, he drops the news he wants a divorce. She is shocked and blindsided by the news,after all they have been married forever and have a grown child. I am sure this is a good book for another audience that has been married and know the struggles and been in these kind of marriages. I being 26 and not married could not really relate to the book. I could not get into or drawn into the story or characters. Like I said though I really do think for an older adults that has or are married and have grown children would be the age level for this book. I just think the reason for me was it just was nothing on my age level that I could relate to being single and never married.

Book Review:Bad girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs

We often look at only the good women of the bible and learn from them. Their is many lessons to be learned. Though rarely have I ever read about the bad girls in the bible and what I could learn from them. Their is a reason they are in the bible too,there is many lessons we can learn in everyday life about sin or wrong doings and take something from these lessons on these women. In this book she takes different bad girls of the bible and she makes things into today stories that we can understand and relate too and what lesson that we can learn. It's a very interesting book. It's taught me to learn from these women's mistakes,because in all truth we all make the same mistakes everyday in life,no one is sinless. Very interesting read. Includes a question and answer with the author at the end too.

Random talk and Beautiful Full Moon

Hey all,
I know all I have been posting is the book reviews I do for some sites,so I thought I would do a little random post. Nothing much is really going on. I was so excited the other day somebody off freecycle gave me a whole collection of Hardback Beverly Lewis Amish Books. I had already read most of them a long time ago but like 2 in the box,so I am getting mom into try and reading them. I just might re-read them again myself. It was almost every book she has written except for the latest new series she's come out with. Great deal!! The other night mom called me outside,it was Saturday night and it was suppose to be a beautiful full moon. She told me come outside and look and you know me I grabbed by camera. The clouds were out of this world beautiful. Like I could just reach up and touch them. They look like tons of cotton balls. I have never seen the clouds so pretty at night and the pictures I took do not show just how truly beautiful it really was.

Truly God's Masterwork!! It was beautiful.

Hope everyone is having a blessed week and remember don't take the small things for granted such as watching the beautiful moon each night:)

Time with God for Mothers By Jack Countryman Book Review

I recently had the chance to review this book,no I am not a mother and have not been blessed with children yet. I got this and reviewed it to give it too my mother! What a beautiful hardcover gift for your moms. Would make a great Mother's day gift or birthday gift. It is filled with bible verses and a passage about each verse. Their is a place to write down a few notes or thoughts in the back. Plus a page that directs you to verses in the bible on prayers for mothers. Then also a page on different topics that directs to bible verses in the bible. It's beautiful in color and and I was very pleased.

Mine is the Night By Liz Curtis Higgs Book Review

I recently had the chance to review this book. I love history and love reading Christian books in the history field. I tried but I could not get into this book. The book cover was beautiful. The idea was neat because it was adapted from the book of Ruth in the bible which is one of my favorite books in the bible. Nothing in the storyline or the Characters were drawing me in. It's about a Lady and her daughter in law coming back to their old town after the loss of all their husbands and children. They have lost everything and have nothing. I just could not get into it. It was set centuries ago in Scotland. You might like the book,but for me just nothing the story,the characters or anything drawed me in. I could not read it no more cause it was just kinda boring to me. Like I said though you might enjoy it,so don't just take my opinion for it.

Lilly's Wedding Quilt by Kelly Long Book Review

I recently had the chance to review and read this book. I love Amish Fiction! I didn't know that this was book two in a series, so while waiting I checked out the first one in the series and read it. What a nice read. It is about Lilly who is the school teacher in the Amish community and lives at home with her mother who suffers from depression. Jacob is a Amish Man whose first love that never loved him back has feel in love and gets married. One night he took a horse from a house who was abusing the horse and was shot. Lilly helps him hide the wound until he can get help when he happens to pass by Lilly as she has slipped on some ice and they go back to his house and she gets fresh clothes and they make their way to the wedding of his first love Sarah. At the wedding the police bust in and claim he is the horse thief and out from behind him,Lilly says he was with her last night. With her reputation on the line. He makes up a story that they were together talking about their engagement. So after everybody believes them they wind up married. He's in love still with his first love and Lilly knows it will never be a real marriage. It all started out to just hide the lie. In the end though things start happening and it turns out great. Can't give away the ending, but I enjoyed the book and it really drew me in to the characters. Great book!

Book Review:Changed by Faith by Luis Palau

I recently had the chance to review this book. It looked interesting and I had never heard of the Author who is a speaker and know worldwide mostly in the Latin community of Latin America. So I knew nothing of him or about him when reading it. I started reading it and was actually drawn into it a little. It is a nice read. He tells from his own life experiences and from others life experiences he has helped along the way. I enjoyed him sharing those stories and how Jesus picks up and puts people back together again. The whole book is centered around how Jesus puts the broken pieces back together again in all of us,if we simply come to trust him in every matter of our life. He can take the worst situations and worst past history or mistakes and put you back together again,just simply by giving your life to Jesus. This is very nice little read.

Book Review:The Shape of Mercy by Susan Meissner

I had a chance to review this book. It is about a college student who is from a wealthy family takes a part time job helping an older woman transcribe a diary that has been passed down through the years. The diary is about a girl who was accused in the Salem witch trails. I have never read anything about that so it was all new to me. It was written with the entries from the girl and then goes back and fourth between then and now. It's all comes down to pretty much how we should not judge someone at first glance or without talking to them,you don't know their story. Don't go by feelings, know the person to form an opinion. It was good read, I kinda guessed what was going to happen through it. Not many surprises. It was a book I read to the end to find out what happened.

Book Review:The Band that Played on By Steve Turner

I recently got the chance to review this book. The whole story of titanic is so sad and their are so many different accounts of it in various different books. This book takes you behind the scenes in a book that has never been written. It is written about the group of men in that band that is said to have played til the ship sank. Different people wittness that they heard them playing Nearer my God to Thee. This book takes you and talks about the different men and their stories and life. It's a good book. Just really makes you think about how sad it all was on that night long ago.
