I'll be home...if only in my dreams...

The holiday season is upon us once again. I have always loved this time of the year. We would always have family Thanksgiving with everyone at our house. Same for Christmas we would always have a get together on Christmas eve. Both events with lots of good food and laughs and memories made. I lived in the same home my whole life so I feel memories in every corner and part of that home. Now though is different no gathering's this year at home. Right now their are new people living in my home the people we are renting it too. Last year was our first Thanksgiving here in TN and we made it through our first one out here, but that Friday my grandma was put in the hospital and me and mom were in NC for a long time. In December my grandma went home to heaven. I didn't really think about Christmas last year so many people were in and out during my grandma's passing and we were staying with my Grandpa. We had a very quiet day and went to church. No big gathering's like years past. This year though will be the first Thanksgiving mom does not have her mom here and their won't be any big dinner at my home like years before. We plan to go out to eat for Thanksgiving. It's going to be so different. Christmas will be different and I think it will hit everybody this year because it won't be people in and out like last year during all the funeral things. These holidays will be different. So much has happened and plus with us moving out of state. We won't have home to come too. I am so thankful for everything that has been brought our way. It's just the little things that are big things to me that I will miss. Here are pictures from past years.

I can't even begin to name all the things I hold dear in my heart. I don't know what the future holds and if we will ever get to move back home and be in that home again but I do know I have such dear memories within my heart that I would not trade for anything. I am truly blessed to have them. Not all have such good memories. I have grown up with many to last me many lifetimes. I am grateful for that.

Missing Carolina

I did not realize how much I would miss home til now. I will think things and be like well when I get home and then dawns on me it isn't a vacation and I'm not going home. I miss the little things. I miss knowing people when you went out, even if it just means the same people working in your local store that you know from being a regular customer. I miss being part a town that I was part of for 26 years and generations before me. I miss being close by to people I knew and family I loved. It is amazing what you miss. Just being home and being part of a town I knew well is what I miss a lot. I miss my neighbors and knowing everyone's routines. I miss every afternoon my dog knowing it was time to go out and bark at her dog friend next door when it got out for the day or hearing her bark everyday and greeting her other dog friend coming down the road on it's daily walk. I miss waving at people passing by that I knew their names and I knew pretty much everything about them. Like I said I didn't realize it would be this hard. I know people move all the time and I know this is the Lord's will for our life right now it's just hard seeing that little town and my home in my head and knowing we are not going back home right now. It's my first big move and I know it will take some time getting use to it. Just pray for me and pray that the missing will get easier. God bless you all.

Just some Random Chatter

Hope everybody is having a great week!!! We are settling in our new home and town. Someday's I miss home so much I can't stand it and other days I am just fine and happy at where we are. It will take some time to get use to everything. In the last 5 weeks we have moved from our home of 26 years and the only home I ever knew, moved to a new city and away from the only city I knew and my parents knew and a generation before that grew up there too. We had strong ties in the community,it is and will always be home to me in my heart. We then put our camper up for sale. We posted it this past Friday night on craigslist, went to eat pizza at pizza hut and came home and a man and his wife came by to look at it and bought and picked it up the next morning. So we also said goodbye to 17 years of memories with the camper. I have told a lot of stuff goodbye in the last couple weeks, but the thing is it's pretty much been a peaceful feeling because I know God's will is for all this too be taking place right now and he is giving me peace to get through it all. Plus the other news sadly I turn 27 this coming Thursday on the 28th..ughhh..when did I get almost to the 30 mark in a couple years? Now that scares the crap out of me turning 30 in a few short years..lol..oh well got to get older sometime..lol..Well hope you all have a great week and God's blessings wherever you are.

We are moved in

Hey all,
Well I am sitting in our new home. We moved in yesterday finally=) I like it so far. I try not to think about back home to much or I will get to missing it but really i have not been thinking about it much and doing pretty good. I had my first visit with my new medical place this past week. It didn't go to bad. I think it's going to be like the one I went to back home. Just knowing I am in with a doctor so I can get my medicine is good. I have not seen the doctor yet,it was just an intake and I go back on August 12. I started unpacking some of my stuff last night. We still have to get some stuff out of storage but we had a month left on the storage rent so we are just taking our time. I had got a free bed off of Craigslist free section but our truck stopped running right so we had really no way to get it unless we parked our moving truck on the road so I gave it up to somebody else which is fine because I will find one somewhere. I think I might get one off target online I seen. Our camper is still at the campground we had 2 nights left on our stay and we are not sure how we are going to get it home. The truck won't make it with a camper hooked to it. So hopefully we are going to find someone to get it pulled here for us. Well hope all is having a good weekend and God bless=)

Would you Follow the Lord?

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

It is so easy to say I will follow the Lord. When it comes down to it though when it's all said and done will you truly follow the Lord wherever he might lead you? I recently had to live out this question with our move to a new place. We had been praying for a long time for a stable job for my dad. Finally the Lord showed us and lead us here after a couple years of prayers and wondering what to do. I have truly seen God move in the last couple of weeks. So many things have fell into place. So it leaves me with question will you follow him no matter what? He took and moved my family 500 miles away from home the only home I knew and grew up in and my whole life was changed when we packed the house and moved. We are in a new place where we don't know a single person. I honestly think the lord is giving me perfect peace about where we are. Do I want to be here? No. Did I ever expect this is where we would end up? Not in a million years..lol;) It is so easy to sit on a pew at church during service and say yes I will follow him, but when it came down to it and you truly had to decide to follow where he leads would Christians stand up and go or would they back down. It's a hard answer but yet its also an easy answer in my mind. Because I have lived this very question I can totally relate to it now. The hard part is trusting the unknown ahead, but know that God is leading and he has a plan. It's scary and sometimes you feel alone but I also think it's an easy answer at times because in those moments when you feel God wrapping his arms around you and giving you total peace about leaving your home and being hundreds of miles from family and a community you know and grew up in. Those truly are some of the most wonderful moments because you can truly see that when your totally alone and following his will you have his perfect hand and his perfect peace guiding you and that makes it worth it all in the end.

The Big Move:My new Area

Hello all,
Well here is another one of my moving post. Here are a few snapshots from my new area. It really is a nice city with anything you want. I'm not use to driving or living in such a bigger area. The area I come from I was use to it and knew everything. Here though I am learning my way around..lol..that is why the first day we were here I ended up way down the road in KY to get food when it was just 5 minutes down the road from me..lol=) Anyways enjoy!!

 "The main big road here"

"The beautiful Cumberland river. You drive right beside it down the road. They have a big walkway to walk around it and it so beautiful=)"

Hope you enjoyed your visit to my new little corner of the world.

Just a Rambling post

I don't even know if anybody reads this blog anymore..haha:) Everybody has sorta gone all facebook. I think though I am going to start posting on here more. I am getting tired of facebook. I have so many thoughts in my head right now and so much I could blog about that is floating around as ideas. We are still living in the camper and on July 20th we sign for the new place and hopefully move in after that. Can't wait to be in my own space again. I love to camp it's just that after awhile you get to missing your own personal space with a door to just have time to yourself. I got an appointment next week with new doctors out here about my Ocd and Depression. I am kind of nervous about that and having to explain everything all over again. It gets really tiring having to talk about it. I'm not one who likes to sit down and tell all my problems to somebody. It's not that fun but I need the medicine so I need to go. The whole disease is very tiring and stressful. If it wasn't for the Lord I really don't think I could get though the hard days I face sometimes. Well enough talking from me. If you have anything you want to say or for me to write on or anything, please comment=) I love hearing from people!! It makes my day. God bless you all.

The Big Move:On the road to TN

So after packing up all our stuff and sending the moving truck on it's way,it was time for us to start to the journey to TN. The preacher that is serving as a temp.at a local church rented our home and was coming in that Saturday afternoon and we pulled out that morning. So many beautiful sites along the way. I really enjoyed the ride. Dad drove the camper in front of us and me and mom drove the car behind him.
