Vacation Post 2

Here is post 2 on our vacation. Sorry it's taken me a couple days to get it up,but I have been very sick. I went to the doctors and they gave me a z-pak so hopefully that will clear up the rest of this cold. I am now just laying in bed resting hoping it will all pass soon. My fever seems to go up at night so maybe it won't tonight! Here are some photos and then I will post about our drive through New Orleans in the next post. God bless!!
This was a great museum that was free to walk through in Pensacola FL. It was filled with many planes and all sorts of stuff to look at. This was the Naval Aviation Museum.

I really enjoyed the Lighthouse and museum in Pensacola FL

Then a few more pictures from Destin FL

We stopped and looked at Gator Beach

Vacation 2012 Post 1

We got back from Destin Sunday evening. We had a great time. The water was so clear and blue as long as a storm or rain wasn't off the coast. I loved it there and could move there. I got sick with a cold going down and the first place we went when we were almost there was a CVS to get me some medicine. It lasted about 2 days and it cleared on up. Then this week it started up again and I was so sick. I finally got rid of the headache and now it's mainly just buzzing through my ears. I am ready for this mess to go away..lol:) Here are a few pictures from Destin and I will do another post with some more:)

Passing through Alabama on the way. This was at a rest stop.

Over the bridge to Destin

 View from our condo

The people beside us started feeding the birds and here they all come down and started eating. It was so funny!!

Book Review:A Season for Trending by Cindy Woodsmall

I love Amish fiction and Cindy Woodsmall is one of my favorite writers of Amish fiction. I recently had the chance to review her latest book. At first I thought I wasn't going to get into it,but I kept reading and slowly I was drawn into everybody in the book and it left me wanting book 2 too see what is going to happen.  Rhoda from a old order amish has a gift of growing herbs and berries and has created a very great business from her product. People find her odd because of her sense of seeing things before they happen. Another amish girl lands in her berry patch one evening after a wild night at a party and this introduces her the King family who own an orchard and end up needing her help with their apples. So many things are introduced in the first book which leaves you waiting for the second one to see what direction it is going to go in. I enjoyed this book and can't wait til the next one!!

I got this book free from blogging for books for my honest review.

A great day of deals...

I hope everyone is having a Joyful Labor day weekend!! Today is the first Saturday of the month and that means in my area it's 50% off everything at Goodwill. So I went when they first opened this morning. It's their most busy day. I actually got a dressing room to try on shirts by getting there early, that never happens:) I got 6 shirts,1 pair of Pajama pants and 3 books for about $19 and some change. You just can't beat around $2 for clothing. I never hardly buy clothes new in a store. I hate the mall to be honest. You can just get so much better deals at yard sales and thrift stores!!

Some books I bought!! The Amazing grace one is a devotion and stories behind the hymns book. They all look like good Christian reads. Plus I have seen Courageous, but never read the book!!

Then I came home and gave my 2 dogs a bath and then I washed my bedspread.

Then I decided to go to the other Goodwill in the area in Fort Campbell. This location is always packed and never any carts by the time I get over there. Today though was my lucky day. A sweet lady gave me her cart when she was loading up her stuff by the front because none were inside. Then the line is usually backed around the store, but I got through fairly quickly today. I found 3 pair of pajama pants,2 shirts,2 books and cute small photo album all for $13!!!

This is the cutest cookbook I got for a 1.00. I love the look of the old days like this and it's filled with great recipes and stories:)

So all in all it was a great sale day. I love good deals like that and Monday the other thrift store in town is having their 50% off sale. I might try that one too!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!! Have a wonderful Labor day!!!

The Moon

....in TN tonight is big and bright and beautiful. How can one question if their is a God,when he makes such beautiful things for us to gaze at!!!

Book Review:The Southern Foodie by Chris Chamberlain

I always look for new and different cookbooks and this one I like. Each chapter is a different state in the south with recipes from different restaurants. Tons of recipes from chefs are featured and I would love to try some of them. It also includes the story about each place featured. I found this to be a neat cookbook and would love to try and go to some of the places mentioned in the different cities. I enjoyed looking at my home state of North Carolina and it includes some that I have seen! If you are looking for a good book to guide you to some wonderful restaurants while in the south then this is the book for you!! I can't wait to start trying out the recipes! Some good southern ones!!

I received this book free from booksneeze.com for my honest review

The Open Bible Review

I sometimes don't understand what the bible is telling me. I recently had a chance to review this bible out and it is filled with tons of information. It's the NKJV Bible and at the front of each book it tells what goes on in that certain book along with other information about it. I really liked that part of it!! It has full color maps in the back,a huge Concordance,Biblical Cyclopedic Index with 8,000 topics!! It has a section that shows what days to read which parts so you can read the full bible in a year. Also was a section The Greatest Archaeological Discoveries in the bible and so much other stuff and study tools. If you are looking to go deep and study the word of the bible then this is for you!! I really like it and can't wait to dig into it and learn more and understand more.
