On the Backroads...

So when I moved here I had no idea that we had moved near Mennonite and Amish communities. When we ran into the Amish man and his two sons selling stuff on the side of the road last week while we were finding yard sales,I went to looking and found there is a community above us up in KY and one in TN below us=) I actually looked it up and found 2 stores near us like just down the road. So we made our way to "The Country Pantry" and "Schlabachs Bakery" all in the little town of Guthrie KY. I just feel in love with the Country Pantry store. I never like sweets but oh my there sweets taste like heaven=) We also noticed that their line of Jams came from Hamptonville NC where I have a bunch of family and where my grandma was born and raised. There is an Amish community there so I guess that is where it was from. We thought that was neat=)
"It was way out in the country I would have never known about it if I had not looked it up"
 "Need any Sugar???"

"They had a great Baking Section..so cute"
 "Outside the Bakery"
"Beautiful handmade furniture outside the Bakery"
"I should have not..lol..but oh it did taste like Heaven"
 "Bought these for my mom"

"Bought the cute farm ones for me"
"These were so cute. I bought my mom one. You can use them as bookmarks or hanging somewhere"

Ok well I hope you enjoyed your trip I took you on. We never had anything like these places back in my hometown in NC,so I get excited when I find such cute little backroad stores=)God bless all!!

  2. Oh! What a neat little store! It kinda reminds me of a mennonite store that is about an hour from us here in NC. I love the handkerchiefs! They're so pretty! Thanks for the little trip. :D

    Have a wonderfully blessed day!

  3. Well, you lucky thing, you!! I would love to live closer to Amish and Mennonite communities ... there are some heavily Anabaptist towns several hours away from where we live, and everything just seems more peaceful when I get there.

Thank you so much for your pictures! It was almost like taking a day trip! :-D I especially like the little ribbon bookmark - what a beautiful idea!

    Have a great day!

    Love in Christ,

I think if it were me, I'd be at those stores just about everyday! So it's probably best it's not me! ;)
