Thanksgiving back home...

Hello all,

So sorry for not waiting lately. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!! Right before we were suppose to go home to NC,a winter storm was blowing through. It was also going to be right in the path of the road we took through the mountains to get home. So after watching all the weather we decided we didn't want to risk going down the mountains in snowy and icy weather. So we thought we were not going. The day we are suppose to leave though all the reports were saying the roads were pretty clear and it would be ok. So we took the chance and left Wednesday around lunch and we made it home for Thanksgiving!!! We ran into some snow and slick roads around the mountains in some parts. Other than that we made it just fine. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and meet up with a bunch of family at different times. My sister lives in the same complex and Grandpa and Uncle live in. So we were all in the same area..lol :) It was so good to see everybody and home!! We made it home last night after all day on the road. It took us longer than usual because of so much holiday traffic and traffic Jams due to road constructions. We were at the last exit before our exit on the hwy and we hit another Jam and were stuck for awhile. We were like 2 minutes away and were like we were almost there..lol..finally we hit out exit and I said Amen!!! I don't like traveling in a car so long.

Fall is here...

Second full day of Fall. I can already see leaves falling from the trees. I think Fall/Winter is the refresh season. Everything dies and then becomes new in Spring blooming over the troubles of yesterday to start fresh!!

Welcome Fall...

Today is the first official day of Fall!!

Little of this and a little of that...

Welcome Spring or should I say maybe Spring? This past week we have had a mixture of everything. From Rainy days to strong winds and yes even Snow!! I thought that was all over with. We have not had any snow all winter and then it's officially Spring and here it is. Crazy weather I tell you!

My sister went shopping in Dickson with a friend the other day. Well she knows I love anything Vintage looking or old. She seen this beautiful key chain and bought it for me. I love it!!!!!! I love cameos. They are so beautiful. 

Please be in prayer for my sister she is having Surgery in April to remove a cyst. Praying that all goes safe and well and they won't have to remove any of her ovaries. 

I am also on a fast from facebook. I just felt lead to stay away from it for a while. It was taking up too much of my time and all the posting and fighting over gay marriage was just getting me down. I needed to step away and find something else to put my time into. I enjoy going around commenting and visiting blogs. A lot less arguing and stuff on here. So I felt the need to just let it go for a little while.

I'll be home...if only in my dreams...

The holiday season is upon us once again. I have always loved this time of the year. We would always have family Thanksgiving with everyone at our house. Same for Christmas we would always have a get together on Christmas eve. Both events with lots of good food and laughs and memories made. I lived in the same home my whole life so I feel memories in every corner and part of that home. Now though is different no gathering's this year at home. Right now their are new people living in my home the people we are renting it too. Last year was our first Thanksgiving here in TN and we made it through our first one out here,but that Friday my grandma was put in the hospital and me and mom were in NC for a long time. In December my grandma went home to heaven. I didn't really think about Christmas last year so many people were in and out during my grandma's passing and we were staying with my Grandpa. We had a very quiet day and went to church. No big gathering's like years past. This year though will be the first Thanksgiving mom does not have her mom here and their won't be any big dinner at my home like years before. We plan to go out to eat for Thanksgiving. It's going to be so different. Christmas will be different and I think it will hit everybody this year because it won't be people in and out like last year during all the funeral things. These holidays will be different. So much has happened and plus with us moving out of state. We won't have home to come too. I am so thankful for everything that has been brought our way. It's just the little things that are big things to me that I will miss. Here are pictures from past years.

I can't even begin to name all the things I hold dear in my heart. I don't know what the future holds and if we will ever get to move back home and be in that home again but I do know I have such dear memories within my heart that I would not trade for anything. I am truly blessed to have them. Not all have such good memories. I have grown up with many to last me many lifetimes. I am grateful for that.

Beautiful Fall day walk...

I got out and enjoyed the fall weather today. I went to a local place called Dunbar Cave. I walked the path to the cave and just enjoyed the colors and taking a few pictures. The cave is closed inside to the public now,but the outside is pretty to look around. Loving the beautiful colors and cooler weather.

Today FALL has officially began!!!

Heat and Tea not me!

My dear I do believe it's hot outside. Near the 100 degree mark in my neck of the woods. Not sure if you pick up on it,but I don't do summer heat. Feeling hot and sweaty in the sun just isn't what I would call fun. I enjoy the beautiful world in the Fall/Winter seasons where it's right on track with my temperature readings:) I'm hot by nature,so summer heat doesn't help. At 27 years old I sometimes wonder if I'm in hot flash mode early. I always have a little fan by my bed on and running. Now don't get me wrong I love summer and all the beauty the season brings, I just wish it would not brings it's heat with it. So most southern people as myself would use this time to sit on the front porch drinking ice cold sweet tea. Umm me? not so much,I feel like I'm breaking the southern law.."Call out the guards" wait for it.....I don't drink ice cold sweet tea on the front porch(lowers head in shame) or anywhere or anytime for that matter, I just can't stand the stuff. Though to make it up I do actually sit on the porch and enjoy talking like any good southern person does. So what do I do to survive the summer heat? Stay inside with the nice cool air of course. I might go out,but it's not for long, my cool air always beckons me back inside. Well I must be going now that you have heard my wisdom on Heat and Tea not me!

It's Snowing!!!!!

It's not much right now,but it is enough to get me excited. It is Snowing!!!! Our first TN snow!!
