A Walk in the Woods....

I had some time before I went to an appointment today. So I decided to stop and check out a park that I have never been to since moving here. I have heard about it and my neighbor told us about it. It's so beautiful and just a peaceful place to walk in the woods by a creek. I plan to go back!! Plus for this nature loving picture taker,it was heaven for picture taking as well :) This is Rotary Park in Clarksville TN.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as
I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,

Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way

I doubted if I should ever come back I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

A Sweet Poem

In our lives come many things
to break the dull routine,
The things we had not planned on
that happen unforeseen,
The unexpected little joys
that are scattered on my way,
Success we did not count on
or a rare, fulfilling day--
A catchy, lilting melody
that makes us want to dance,
A nameless exaltation
of enchantment and romance--
An unsought work of kindness,
a compliment or two
That sets the eye to gleaming
like crystal drops of dew,
The unplanned sudden meeting
that comes with sweet surprise
And lights the heart with happiness
like a rainbow in the skies,
Now some folks call it fickle fate
and some folks call in chance,
While others just accept it
and pleasant happenstance,
but no matter what you call it,
it didn't come without design,
For all our lives are fashioned
by the HAND THAT IS DIVINE
And every happy happening
and every lucky break
Are little gifts from God above
that are ours to freely take.

Good Morning God...

Good Morning God
By Helen Steiner Rice

You are ushering in another day

untouched and freshly new.

So here I come to ask You God

if You’ll renew me too?

Forgive the many errors, that

I made yesterday, and let me try

again dear God

to walk closer in Thy way.

But Father I am well aware

I can’t make it on my own.

So take my hand and hold it tight.

for I can’t walk alone.

Climb til your dreams come true

Climb 'Til Your Dream Comes True

 Helen Steiner Rice

Often your tasks will be many,
And more than you think you can do.
Often the road will be rugged
And the hills insurmountable, too.
But always remember,
The hills ahead
Are never as steep as they seem,
And with Faith in your heart
Start upward
And climb 'til you reach your dream.
For nothing in life that is worthy
Is ever too hard to achieve
If you have the courage to try it,
And you have the faith to believe.
For faith is a force that is greater
Than knowledge or power or skill,
And many defeats turn to triumph
If you trust in God's wisdom and will.
For faith is a mover of mountains,
There's nothing that God cannot do,
So, start out today with faith in your heart,
And climb 'til your dream comes true!

Sweet Poem

The other month my sweet cousin sent me a poem and a saying in a card she mailed me:) It was by one of my favorite writers. I took the poem and did the following with it:)
I put the wonderful quote in a frame and below and I put the poem in a frame and added 2 pictures I took while coming up the mountain to our new home in Tennessee:)  I just love the poem and thank my cousin for being such a blessing and sending it!!

This Too Shall Pass

~Ecclesiastes 3:1"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"~

~After a long hard winter, spring awakes to beautiful glory all around. What was cold and dark has now become fresh and new. I love every Season because everyone is special in it's own way. Spring is special because it brings the hope of a bright sunny day of hope after a long cold and sometimes dark winter. New flowers blooming, time outside to enjoy the sun shinning down all made beautiful by the works of our Heavenly Father above. I love wild flowers that just bloom in your yard or along the road, they are the ones God planted and designed and put there. Look around spring is beautiful and the world is beautiful. Take time to enjoy the Spring. Just remember that through those long dark days

"This Too Shall Pass"~

~If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-
If I can remain calm and quiet~

~With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-
If I can but keep on believing~
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-
~Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains~

~That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-

For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near. ~

~Poem by Helen Steiner Rice~

~No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow~

A Beautiful Poem

Wow this is a poem I recieved in a FWD email that a man had wrote while in a nursing home and it was found after he died. It had me teary eyed. We all were once young and had lives and lived, just because people get older don't stop loving them or start treating them different. Inside they are still that same person!!

What do you see nurses? . . . . . What do you see?
What are you thinking . . . . . when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man . . . . . not very wise,
Uncertain of habit . . . . . with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food . . . . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . . . . . 'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . . . . the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . . . lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . . . The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? . . . . . Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . . . you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am. . . . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . . . . . with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters . . . . . who love one another.

A young boy of Sixteen . . . . with wings on his feet.
Dreaming that soon now . . . . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . . . my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows . . . . . that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . . . With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons . . . . . have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me . . . . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . . my wife is now dead.
I look at the future . . . . . shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing . . . . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . . . and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles . . . . . grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone . . . . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . . . . . a young guy still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys . . . . . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . . . . gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people . . . . . open and see.
Not a crabby old man . . . Look closer . . . see ME!!

The Path taken with God

I'm at a Crossroads in life and not sure which way to turn. I was thinking about this poem today. I don't know what the outcome is going to be. I do though know I don't want to travel on the road the world travels on that leads to no good. I want to follow on the path less taken, the path that God has laid out and planned for me. I just want to serve and follow his path where he will lead. I don't know what the plan is as I walk the path less taken but I know I walk it with the Lord and he directs my steps each step of the way! Please pray for me.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
