Duck Dynasty&Phil Thoughts...

Big story breaking tonight with Duck Dynasty. Just Google it and you will find out why. I have watched the show a couple times and had a few good laughs. What I admire most is the Christian beliefs they hold and ending each show with a prayer. So tonight they have took Phil off the show due to his beliefs he spoke in a magazine. One question I always have? Why is it that everybody else in the world can voice their opinions but when Christians voice theirs we all get bashed, name called, haters, bigots and other words thrown at us. Why can't we Christians never voice anything? Why can everybody else always voice and not get nothing said? I just don't understand it!! It upsets me so much. Just because I don't believe in Gay lifestyles that does not make me a bigot or I'm Judging others. I am simply stating what I believe to be God's words. If God wanted 2 of the same sex together he would have made it so they could come together as 1. No he made it to where only Man and Woman can come together. Only Man and Woman can produce children. Those things along should tell you that it is against nature and God for two of the same sex to be together. So I commend people like Phil who stand for their convictions!!

  1. How do you know there is a GOD? Some people don't believe in GOD at all. So if someone doesn't believe in GOD then they don't believe in what his teachings are. Christians are forever in a day voicing their opinions, but sometimes it's not so much what they are saying as it is how they are saying it. Gay people are treated like aliens, like they don't belong in the world, just like people of different nationalities or colors are treated. Why is it that christians feel like EVERYONE should believe what they believe? Why are there so many different religions and each one believes in different ideals...why can't people just be excepted for who they are? ....as long as no one is hurting you or involving you in their lives or preferences why is it any of your business what people choose to do with their lives. I don't understand why christians are so bent out of shape about gay people? You all act like it's a disease! Get over it already.

    1. I respect everyone and their rights to their own convictions and beliefs. I as a Christian do not say things in a hateful way. Yes some might go to the extreme and say really mean things like people in any group of people would. Let me say I never said or believe that people have to believe what I believe. Everyone has a right to their opinion and this is mine. What upsets me is that everybody in the world can voice their opinions but every time a Christian tries to say their opinion we get jumped on. Why can't people accept our opinion and freedom of speech like they do everyone else? I know Gay people and I treat them with the same respect and no different then anybody else. I simply don't agree with the lifestyle and that is my freedom like your freedom to believe what you want. So if you don't agree with me,that is fine. You have a right of opinion and I have mine.

    2. Sorry to step in, Jennifer. I hope my comment isn't unwelcome. But to answer "." up above, I know there is a God because I feel Him with me every day. I hear Him speak to me, I see Him work. I've seen miracles, seen answered prayers. Read Revelation and see what's happening in this world, Revelation is coming true.
"I know a risen Savior, He's in the world today. I KNOW that He is with me, whatever men may say, I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, and just the time I need Him, He's always near."

    3. Sometimes people just need to agree to disagree...maybe christians get jumped on because they keep talking about it all the time. I watch some of the religious net works and on one hand they talk about how we need to love each other and be excepting etc...on the next hand they tell you how wrong certain things are and that God had the right ideals and those that don't follow will all go to hell. Religion is a very hard subject to debate kind of like politics...everyone is right and everyone is wrong.

    4. Kalin: Your comment is most welcome. Thank you for it :) You are so true!!

To Anonymous: I don't talk about it all the time. No more than others talk about their opinions. It is a hard subject to debate. That is why I don't debate much but I will stand up in what I believe. Lets agree to disagree!

  2. I agree with the original commenter. You say you have the right to your opinion and that you treat everyone the same...but repeatedly posting here that you "don't believe" in homosexuality is judgment. And it's hurtful.

You are hurting people you claim to treat equally by publicly condemning something that isn't a choice. Nobody chooses to be gay. It's in their DNA.

You seem to know something about feeling alone, isolated, judged and rejected. Gay people have been isolated, judged and rejected for generations.

If you know gay people, you can gain valuable perspective by showing love and compassion. They are people with feelings, just like you and me. They have struggled. They have goals and values. Listen to what they have to say. You might learn something.

You say "every time a Christian tries to say their opinion we get jumped on." Plenty of bloggers who aren't Christian get "jumped on" all the time. If you're going to blog publicly, you have to accept that people won't always agree with you. This isn't a war on your beliefs; it's an earnest plea for you to cultivate a deeper understanding of the world around you.

    1. How is saying I don't believe in Homosexuality a Judgment? It's a conviction and opinion. I'm not judging. I don't hate on gays and I don't mistreat anyone. I would be the first to step up for anyone who is being treated wrong. I show love and accept whatever people believe. So why can't people accept what I believe? It's not in DNA because nobody is born gay. Plus I know this is a public blog and fully welcome people to leave their comments because I respect everyones opinions. I could say that you not accepting my conviction and opinion is hurtful and not right, but I don't. I know a lot about the world around me and I believe everyone has a right to their own opinion. Just because mine don't line up with another does not make me a Judge. It's my freedom to have my own opinion. I just don't understand why it's ok for others to voice theirs but I can't mine? I don't agree with being gay but that does not me a hater. You don't know me in life. I love everybody but I do have a right not to agree with a choice of lifestyle.

    2. The fact that you think being gay is a choice and a lifestyle suggests you really don't know anything about the world around you. You're obviously welcome to your opinion, but your opinion is wrong.

    3. Jennifer,
I completely agree with you. You have answered in a very kind way. I have family members who are "gay" I love them very much even though I do not believe their life style is what God would want them to do. I open my arms to them and they know my beliefs and are very kind and loving to me. We agree to disagree.
Blessings and love to you all,
      Amy Jo

    4. To Anonymous: I know a lot about the world around me. I am not blind to what goes on. I'm in it everyday. You're welcome to your opinion. I would never tell you your opinion is wrong so I don't think you should tell me mine is wrong. Everybody has the freedom to their own opinions. I'm not going to tell you you're wrong just because I don't agree with it.

Amy Jo: Thank you for your kind words. That is what I try and do as well. Some people though will continue to argue me even though they say we should be tolerant they are not being very tolerant themselves. Have a great day!!
