Day Drive with Mom!

The other day me and mom took a ride through KY countryside near where we live,we are right at the border almost. We traveled around through the area and it has so many Amish and Mennonite families. I love learning and hearing about their life and culture. It is so peaceful in that area. We happened to locate a store off the back road. They had a sign at the road and that is how we found it. It was the cutest store. The two men that greeted us were so friendly and very helpful! They had all the housewares part in the store. Mom bought some beautiful bookmarks that were painted by his sister who lives in NY and she makes them into bookmarks with bible verses. Mom bought the cutest bowl too. He then lead us too the back in another building where there was all the produce. Mom bought Strawberry's,Cucumbers,Peppers,Tomatoes,Bananas,Lettuce, and a Jar of Jam. They also sold beautiful flowers. I'm not sure if they were Amish or Mennonite. I will go back again for their welcome smiles and friendly attitudes. If your in the area it is called "Sauder Farm County Market" right near the Jefferson Davis Monument. Their address is  959 Britmart Rd. Elkton, KY 42220. Go check them out! I hear they also near there have the "Fairview Produce Auction" where lots bring in their produce to auction off. Then me and mom also stopped by "The Jefferson Davis Monument" which is a very tall structure. We ended the day out at Dairy Queen. It was nice time with mom and I enjoyed my time with her.

Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park:Part 2

This is the park we went too last week for history civil war day. This is all the memorials and stuff set up. It was so interesting!! It is a very nice park if your ever in the area.

Markers line the sidewalk with dates  and on the wall beside it tells stuff that went on during that time.

A ball that you could touch and roll with water falling from it.
Tall poles with bells at the top. There was blocks for each musician that has influenced Country Music
